PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
Description
This position is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and job cost functions for specific projects.
The Project Accountant reports to the Project Account Manager. This is a full-time, salary, exempt, in-person position in the accounting department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and maintain project expenses
- Manage the budget and pending collections
- Subcontractor Billing and Processing
- Subcontract Document Control – lien releases, W-9’s, insurance certificates, etc.
- Invoice coding and data entry
- Draw requests to Owner for work that is completed
- Check issuance
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working for a general contractor or subcontractor in the construction industry is preferred
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to follow standard filling procedures
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work Outlook)
- Prior experience with AIA contract documents preferred
- Prior experience with Concur and Spectrum preferred
Supplemental pay types: Bonus opportunities
Physical setting: Office
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Requirements
Experience
- Accounting: 2 years (Preferred)
- Construction Industry: 2 years (Preferred)
- Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Preferred)
- AIA contract document: 1 year (Preferred)
Education Requirements
- An Associate’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and/or printers.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear and use their fingers to type. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use their hands and reach. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and the ability to focus.
Supervisory Responsibility
- None. This position will not have any direct reports
