Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00 an hour

Description:

The CO2 Laser Operator and Programmer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to programming, operating, maintaining, and setting up the CO2 laser cutting machine to produce precision cuts. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints and detailed drawings, performing quality checks, maintaining the machinery, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a safe, efficient work environment to meet production specifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure precise fabrication
• Use technical drawings and blueprints to program CO2 laser to produce quality cuts
• Set up and operate CO2 laser cutting machines according to established procedures and specifications
• Load raw materials into the laser machine and unload finished parts
• Safe and effective forklift / crane operation
• Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet required standards
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on laser equipment to ensure optimal functionality
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to improve quality and efficiency
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during operation
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
• Keep detailed records of production, machine performance, and material usage

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Engineering degree or experience a plus
• Proven experience operating laser cutting machinery, ideally CO2 lasers
• Ability to read and understand technical drawing and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient computer skills/Microsoft, Excel, Outlook and Word
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work in a loud industrial environment
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, high visibility vest, steel-toed shoes, and gloves.
