Laboratory Technician I

Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for executing assigned Laboratory support functions such as media preparation, cleaning and steam sterilization of Laboratory supplies and reusable equipment. May conduct some assigned testing. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
What You Will Do as a Laboratory Technician I:
- Supports laboratory functions through the preparation of media, reagents and associated tasks. 50%
- Performs cleaning as directed including materials, equipment and Lab area. 25%
- Manually and electronically records and maintains data relevant to the procedures executed. 10%
- Assists in basic testing functions as directed such as preparation, set-up and clean-up. 10%
- Assists in the operation of steam sterilizer. 5%
- Other Duties as Assigned
What You'll Need to be Successful:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change.
- Ability to read and interpret rules, schedules, procedures and instructions.
- Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
- Ability to lift and exert force of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work well with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Quality.
- Scientific Degree.
Pay rate for this opportunity is $17.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
