Bookkeeping Apprentice--Entry Level
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Apprentice for our busy electrical contractor that provides residential and commercial service to customers in the Southeast Texas area. The employee will train for 6-8 weeks in Sequin, TX, then permanently work in Beaumont TX. Candidates must be available for the duration of this time, to avoid any interference with training.
This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to begin their career in bookkeeping. As an apprentice, you will learn and assist in maintaining financial records, tracking income and expenses, and supporting the overall accounting process under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Only ENTRY-LEVEL Texas or Louisiana candidates will be considered!
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Duties will include clerical, accounting, and customer service.
- Answering phones for service/estimate requests, scheduling work, setting up and invoicing
customers, communicating and problem solving to manage open balances.
- Correspond with customers and vendors and process incoming payments.
- Maintain electronic and paper files/records, pull permits, input data entry, record expenses.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Learn to reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Help process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Assist with payroll entry and employee expense reports.
- Maintain organized filing systems for all financial documents.
- Engage in ongoing training and education to develop bookkeeping skills.
**Qualifications:**
**Must be able to commute to Seguin for training for 6-8 weeks. Will be paid for drive time.Hotel and food paid as well as mileage. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills are required for this job.
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent work ethic.
- Must be reliable and show motivation to exceed expectations in assisting the Office Manager.

Candidates MUST:
* Be a Texas or Louisiana resident
* Submit 3 Professional References upon completion of phone interview
* Complete Criteria Corp Assessments immediately following phone interview
* Submit a "Clear" drug screen and background check
* Graduate from High School or have GED
* Submit a valid Driver's License and Social Security Card.
