Estimator

The Austin Texas branch is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join its team. This role is essential in supporting business development and sales by preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals, collaborating with clients and vendors, and contributing to the company's continued growth and reputation for quality. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Request and evaluate material and equipment pricing from vendors and suppliers.
- Prepare detailed, timely, and accurate cost estimates and write comprehensive proposals for clients.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using company estimating procedures and review for accuracy.
- Collaborate with material vendors on pricing and product specifications.
- Engage with customers to clarify project scope and address questions.
- Document all project-related questions and responses for record-keeping.
- Complete bid checklists, summaries, and preliminary project schedules.
- Support the management team with final presentations to customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through site visits and meetings.
- Attend client and industry events, including those outside normal business hours.
- Manage all job-related documents, both paper and electronic, including use of estimating software.
- Conduct project site visits and attend project meetings as assigned.
- Prepare reports for staff or management as directed.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and details.
- Competence in routine business math calculations and estimating time and materials for projects.
- Solid understanding of commercial construction terms and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: Project management experience in drywall, flooring, or specialty construction fields.
- Preferred: Experience with Takeoff software.
- Preferred: College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a business-related field.
- Preferred: Field experience as a subcontractor in construction.
- Preferred: Experience with Sage 100 software.
