Electrical Commissioning

Responsibilities
- Lead and execute commissioning activities for data center electrical systems, including generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and related equipment, with occasional supervision.
- Review client design packages and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Level 1 through Level 5 equipment tests, including First of Kind equipment.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test procedures, reports, logs, and equipment checklists.
- Participate in daily commissioning meetings and contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs).
- Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, and lists of deficiencies.
- Conduct integrated system testing, load bank testing, and compile all testing procedure results.
- Assist in troubleshooting commissioned equipment and verify test report results in the field.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Help lead and manage external resources, schedule and direct commissioning meetings, and attend construction and coordination meetings as required.
- Follow established quality management and quality control processes and procedures throughout all project phases.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in the engineering field, preferably with exposure to complex facilities or mission-critical projects.
- Previous experience in data center or critical facilities environments is preferred.
- Experience with electrical equipment testing and commissioning in facility environments.
- Familiarity with IEEE/ASHRAE procedures and protocols is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of systems design for various engineering projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on documentation and client interaction.
- Ability to use power quality analyzers, power disturbance analyzers, data loggers, and related system testing equipment.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering is a plus, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to occasionally move objects weighing 10-50 lbs and frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the job.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
