Texas Research International (TRI), a group of profitable privately-owned companies with 145 employees and $45M in revenue, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the accounting operations for 1 or more of its companies.

This position will involve working side by side with the accounting team, providing support to leadership & managers and report to the Chief Financial Officer.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for full-cycle accounting for a group of companies assigned to you.
• Determine the appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions ensuring compliance with US GAAP and completion of documentation for audit purposes.
• Reviews source documentation to ensure revenue has been correctly calculated.
• Generate invoices to customers.
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for leadership team.
• Assist Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist with Analysis and follow up on overdue customer accounts.
• Analyze processes and identify opportunities for improvement initiatives including implementation and monitoring post-implementation.
• Prepare accounting records and financial reports per company standards.
• Prepare and assist in review of result (trend, variance, growth, impairment analyses) for areas of responsibility.
• Utilize software applications for company accounting operations.
• Perform record-keeping of all financial operations.
• Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements

What you need

• Accounting degree from 4-year university
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Have excellent knowledge of excel, specifically XLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Understanding of accounting rules and procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work independently.
• Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization of projects.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written skills.
• Act with integrity, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.
• Foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you.
• Continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change.
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Relevant certification (e.g. CPA or CMA) will be preferred.
• Experience with Acumatica; Velixo; Concur; preferred.
• Experience in Business-to-Business environment.
• Corporate Accounting experience a plus.
• Must be able to adapt to an ever-evolving technology landscape.
